Frank Lingnowski Family Immigration
Below are portions of 2 pages from the passenger list of the S.S. Minister Rooni, which departed from
Bremen, Germany,
and arrived in New York on April 13, 1874. Passengers included
Frank,
his wife Marianne (Zielinski), sons Michael and
Herman, and daughters, Anna, Anastasia, and Antonia. Strangely, son Franz is not
listed. However, there is a Franz listed on Frank's
brother Dominik's passenger list. Dominik had a son Franz who died in Poland
before immigrating. Could the Franz traveling with
Dominik actually be Frank's son? That's the only solution I can come up with.
The top page is the cover sheet, which indicates the name of the ship, port of
departure, and date of arrival.
The bottom page is the listing for the Lingnowski family, with name, age, and sex
of each. Frank's occupation is listed as a laborer. The family
came from Germany, which at that time, controlled the part of Poland that the
Lingnowski's came from. Destination is listed simply as United States.
